Sean Stone was introduced to the parallel universe of movies and the malleable magic of cinematography at a very young age. It’s hard not to be quite so immersed when your father is one of the world’s most celebrated film makers and you’ve been a child actor in films such as JFK and Natural Born Killers.

Trauma bonding is a term often associated with a similar form of manipulative psychological imprinting, whereby persons are exposed to extreme adversity and fear, in reality, or by proxy through external media factors. Victims can then become mysteriously trusting towards their tormentors, captors, and even nightly newscasters despite the amount of adversity, torture or even shocking headlines inflicted upon them. The result of this insidious process of submissive compliance and trust is most commonly known as Stockholm syndrome. It is very real, and many more people are held hostage by their own fears than any captors. Just how many people are victims of this strange syndrome and how can this happen in our own living rooms?
