Matt Nye is an innovative, self-starting, entrepreneurial project manager with more than two and a half decades of diversified expertise in technology, telecommunications, finance, marketing and communications. Nye has worked as a Regional Director for Verteks Consulting, a leading provider of voice and data networks for enterprise and government clients in Florida, since 2008, and is primarily responsible for new business development in the VoIP space.
During his time in his current role he has saved large companies and local governments literally millions of dollars on their annual recurring communications costs. Some of his major wins include the Citrus County School District, Citrus County, City of Pensacola, IAP Worldwide Services in Cape Canaveral and the St. Johns River Water Management District.
In addition to his work at Verteks Consulting, Nye has taken on a number of leadership roles in local and national political and non-profit organizations. He is the Founder and Immediate Past Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Central East Florida, the Organizer of the Brevard Tea Parties, the Immediate Past Chair and Treasurer of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Florida, the National Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus and the Treasurer for the Rotary Club of Suntree.
As the Organizer of the Brevard Tea Party and a former candidate for Brevard County Commission Nye is a frequently sought expert for local media on subjects like taxes, regulation, waste, fraud, abuse and transparency. In his capacity as National Chairman of the RLC he is frequently interviewed on issues pertaining to party politics and the role the liberty movement plays in today’s political landscape.
Nye lives in Suntree with his two dogs, Lily & Cookie. He is the son of Ocala natives Ben and Susan Nye. Born in Riverdale, Georgia and raised in Ocala, Nye has one younger sister, Ellen, who resides in Gainesville with her husband and two sons.
Nye hopes to one day serve in elected office to give a voice to those who think our government is out of control and bring some good old fashioned common sense to bear on the problems of our day.
