One killed and two seriously wounded in rush hour shooting at New York City’s Penn Station

A man has been shot dead and two wounded in a shooting at New York City’s Penn Station on Monday morning.

The victims were gunned down inside the entrance of the subway station at 6am after allegedly getting into a fight in the nearby McDonald’s.

According to a witness, the shooter coaxed the three men, all in their 40s, out of the fast food restaurant towards the subway and shot them at point-blank range.

A 43-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men were driven to Bellevue Hospital. One, aged 45, is in a critical condition after being shot in the neck and stomach, according to the New York Daily News. The other, aged 48, was shot in the leg.

Three men were seen fleeing the scene in a silver car headed north. No suspects have been arrested.

Police cordoned off the entrance and advised New Yorkers to avoid the junction. A cane could be seen lying within the parameters of the crime scene.

Commissioner Bill Bratton arrived at the scene at around 8am to be briefed. He is expected to give a press conference.
