Paul Burford

Biography:

Paul Burford is a veteran of multiple decades within N. American film and television, as an actor, a producer and director.  He holds an honours BA in Film Arts from York University and studied Film and Radio Arts at Ryerson University.  He learned from one of the best through a working partnership that also included managing Michael Anderson, the award winning director of several famous motion pictures including; The Shoes of The Fisherman, The Dam Busters, Shake Hands With The Devil, Logan’s Run, Orca, Millennium and others.

He is presently working on a feature length documentary entitled; Galaxy Built on Hope with Roger Christian, about the making of Star Wars.  Christian is a notable Oscar winning set decorator and prop creator with such iconic creations as “The Millennium Falcon” and “The Light Saber” to his creative credits.  Not bad for some ideas that he cobbled together at a salvage operation. He also cautiously considered that George Lucas might not even like them, or perhaps even fire him for these suggestions.  Therein lies a legendary lesson in creative risk taking and its rewards.

It’s a Miracle , documented 13 episodes of  evidencing  faith healings featuring evangelist Benny Hinn. Talking Faith, a 12 episode teaching series with hockey legend Paul Henderson earned a Gold Remi at the Houston Int’I. Film & Video Festival and Give Us This Day won best feature film screenplay at the Canadian Int’l Faith and Family Film Festival in 2017. His producing credits also include 700 episodes of Just like Mom, a family game show that he also created.

He has produced 90 television commercials for a multitude of corporate clients that include; Coca Cola, Gillette, Mennen, Nabisco, AGF, Calvin Klein, Kellogg’s, Proctor and Gamble and many others in addition to writing and producing over 200 radio commercials.

Paul has taught Advanced Television and Film post graduate programs, The Art of Directing, Production Management, Media Arts Business practices and Principles of Visual Design,  at Sheridan College, a world renowned school that has produced many notable award winning graduates.  He now teaches “Cinema and Christianity”, and “Film and Faith” at Tyndale University.
